Frequently asked questions
Who is Lauren?
There is no one at LWR named Lauren; we are located in Laurens County, Georgia, named after John Laurens, a Revolutionary War hero and military aide to George Washington.
Can I keep the baby squirrel/bird/possum/rabbit I found as a pet?
No. State and federal regulations prohibit the possession of wildlife without the proper permits.
What can I feed the wild baby I found?
It’s best if you don’t feed wild babies anything at all unless directed to do so by a licensed wildlife rehabilitator in the event that s/he can’t meet you immediately to take possession of the baby. Improper diets, even for a short time, can create serious, long-lasting and sometimes deadly problems for wildlife.
